The Traffic, Parking & Transportation Department provides many engineering and planning services to the people of Cambridge and to other Departments.

Staff plan, design, operate and maintain the City's traffic signals, signs, pavement markings, parking lots, meters and parking garages.
Engineering services include traffic studies, traffic counts, speed studies and safety evaluations.
TP&T has the regulatory responsibility to approve traffic studies that are required for large developments in order to go before the Planning Board.
