Cambridge to Launch Curbside Textiles Collection Beginning December 7, 2021

The City of Cambridge announced today that it will be launching free curbside collection of clothing and textiles for reuse and recycling beginning December 7, 2021. Residents can schedule their free curbside collection through the Zero Waste Cambridge app or the Get Rid of It Right tool beginning today. Curbside collection of textiles is free and will take place at least once per week in Cambridge.
City of Cambridge Partners with Save That Stuff to Foster a More Sustainable Agriculture System

The City of Cambridge and its yard waste collection contractor, Save That Stuff, have partnered with The Food Project to pilot an innovative new way to convert Cambridge’s yard waste into rich soil to grow food.
Partial Roadway Paving Enhancements Scheduled for October 2021

Beginning October 4th, weather permitting, the City's contractor, E J Paving, will be performing partial roadway grinding and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of street around the City.
Cambridge Street Rail Road Crossing Closure October 29 into October 30

Keolis will be working to replace the railroad crossing on Cambridge Street on Friday, October 29 into Saturday, October 30. The work will require a full shutdown of all traffic on Cambridge street at the crossing location.
Cambridge’s First Miyawaki Forest will Boost Biodiversity and Climate Resilience

The City of Cambridge today announced that on September 25, 2021, the first Miyawaki Forest in the Northeast US will be planted at Danehy Park in North Cambridge. A collaboration between Biodiversity for a Livable Climate and the SUGi Project, in partnership with the City of Cambridge, the 4,000 square foot microforest pioneers the innovative Miyawaki method of reforestation in this region.
