COA Programming at Russell Youth and Community Center

The Cambridge Council on Aging offers programming for Cambridge adults ages 60 and older at the Russell Youth and Community Center, 680 Huron Ave. 2nd Fl. on Thursdays and Fridays.

Program Schedule (Thursdays and Fridays through May 29, 2026)

Please note: there will be no COA classes at the Russell Youth and Community Center the week of April 20.

Thursday:

  • 9 - 10 a.m. Tai Chi
  • 10 - 11:30 a.m. Portrait Drawing
  • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Yoga

Friday:

  • 9 - 10 a.m.: Dance
  • 10 - 11:30 a.m. Knitting Group (drop-in through 12 p.m.)
  • 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.: Indoor Walking (drop-in through 12 p.m.)

During programming hours, older adults are welcome to socialize in the building's 2nd Floor Common Area. The Council on Aging will also offer drop-in walking hours on Fridays, where older adults can get exercise in a safe indoor environment.

How to Register 

Registration is required to participate in classes at the Russell Youth and Community Center. Please call the Council on Aging at 617-349-6220 to register.

Summer Update

Programming for older adults at the Russell Youth and Community Center will pause during the summer months (June through August), when the building will host Cambridge Youth Programs’ summer programs for pre-teens and middle schoolers.
