Human Service Programs

Join us for free food and fun every summer! The Cambridge Summer Food Program provides free, nutritious meals to Cambridge children every weekday at parks across the city. 

  • Open to all Cambridge residents ages 18 and under
  • Free meals at Cambridge parks Monday – Friday  
  • No identification required to get a meal
  • Vegetarian options at every location

2026 Summer Food Schedule

The 2026 Summer Food Program begins on Monday, June 29 and runs through the end of August. Please note: meals will not be served on Friday, July 3 or Friday, August 14.

  • Breakfast served from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

  • Lunch served from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m.
    •  Recreation activities at the parks until 2 p.m.

Rain Locations: During rain or inclement weather, meals will be served at Cambridge Senior Center (806 Massachusetts Ave.), Fresh Pond Apartments (362-364 Rindge Ave.), and the War Memorial Recreation Center (1640 Cambridge St.)

Donnelly Field, 61 Willow St.

Fresh Pond Apartments Playground, 362-364 Rindge Ave.

Glacken Playground, 637 Huron Ave.

Greene-Rose Heritage Park, 155 Harvard St.

Hoyt Field, 12 Gilmore St.

Joan Lorentz Park, Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway

Louis A. DePasquale Playground, 66 Field St.

Sennott Park, 305 Broadway

The Summer Food Program will also serve lunch Danehy Park's Sherman St. entrance on July 21 and at the Central Square Farmer's Market, 76 Bishop Allen Dr. on Mondays from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. from June 29 through August 10.
