Cambridge Preschool Program to Accept Additional Applications for 2026-2027 School Year through April 13

The Cambridge Office of Early Childhood is accepting new applications to the Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) for enrollment in the 2026-2027 school year. Families who recently moved to Cambridge or who missed the fall application period are encouraged to apply if their child will turn 3 or 4 years old by August 31, 2026. Applications will be accepted through Monday, April 13.

The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) is a publicly-funded program that provides access to free, high-quality preschool for all Cambridge 4-year-olds and prioritized 3-year-olds. Families apply to CPP through a single, centralized online application. They can choose from preschool programs offered by Cambridge Public Schools, the Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP), and select community-based preschool and family childcare providers. CPP covers the cost of the school-day, school-year portion of programs. Depending on a family's income, there may be additional costs for programs that provide full-day, full-year (including summer) preschool.

Through a streamlined application process, families rank preschool providers on their application and are matched with one of their choices. Families who apply by April 13 will be notified of their child’s placement in a preschool program by early May.

Please note that some CPP providers have reached capacity for the 2026-2027 school year and seats may be limited across CPP programs.
