Removal of Public Shade Trees
City of Cambridge, Department of Public Works

Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at the DPW Main Conference Room at 147 Hampshire Street, Cambridge, Mass., to consider the removal of the following public tree(s):

1. Broadway/Binney/Galilei Streetscape Improvement Project – Removal of 27 trees as part of a comprehensive streetscape improvement and replanting plan for the area. Some locations will be replanted.
a. 290 Binney St (on Broadway) - Removal of 4 linden trees (6.7”, 6.7”, 5.4”, and 8.4”) 
b. 105 Broadway - Removal of 6 linden trees (6.3”, 5.9”, 6.0”, 5.9”, 5.5”, and 5.4”)
c. In median opposite 105 Broadway - Removal of 4 hawthorn trees (6.9”, 8.1”, 7.2”, and 8.5”)
d. In median on Galilei Way near Broadway – Removal of 3 crabapple trees (8.7”, 6.3”, and 6.0”)
e. 300 Binney St – Removal of 3.4” London planetree
f. In median on Galilei Way near Binney - Removal of 5 crabapple trees (7.8”, 9.3”, 7.8”, 8.6”, and 11.3”)
g. In median on Binney west of Sixth St – Removal of 13.2” crabapple
h. In median on Binney east of Sixth St – Removal of 3 crabapple trees (13.3”, 14.0”, and 15.4”)
