Heating Bill Assistance Event March 12, 2026

Need Help Paying Your Energy Bill? Come learn about programs to help you manage your energy bills.

The City will be hosting a Heating Bill Assistance Event with Eversource on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 2-6 p.m. at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA in the first-floor lobby.  Residents will be able to meet with City staff and Eversource representatives to learn more about resources that help lower energy use and costs.

This event will include additional energy bill support services provided by the non-profit organization and City partner, All In Energy. All In Energy will offer Energy Bill Check-Ups to help residents better understand their energy bills, make sure they aren't overpaying, and help them access all City-supported energy efficiency and clean energy programs.

Interpretation will be available in Amharic, Spanish, Portuguese and Haitian Creole.

Programs to Explore

  • Discount Rate: If you qualify, you can receive a monthly discount of 42% off your electric bill or 25% off your gas bill.
  • New Start: If you’re receiving the Discount Rate, New Start can help you pay your past due balance in as little as 12 months when you make on-time payments.
  • Flexible Payment Plans: All customers regardless of income, can pay a past due balance over a period of time.
  • Energy Efficiency Programs: Find energy-saving solutions to lower your energy bills.
