Heating Bill Assistance Event December 15

Need Help Paying Your Energy Bill? Come learn about programs to help you manage your energy bills.

The City will be hosting a Heating Bill Assistance Event with Eversource on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 2-6 p.m. at the Cambridge Citywide Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA.  Residents will be able to meet with City staff and Eversource representatives to learn more about resources that help lower energy use and costs. 

Interpretation will be available in Amharic, Spanish, and Portuguese. Interpretación disponible en español. Interpretação disponível em português.


Programs to Explore

  • Discount Rate: If you qualify, you can receive a monthly discount of 42% off your electric bill or 25% off your gas bill.
  • New Start: If you’re receiving the Discount Rate, New Start can help you pay your past due balance in as little as 12 months when you make on-time payments.
  • Flexible Payment Plans: All customers regardless of income, can pay a past due balance over a period of time.
  • Energy Efficiency Programs: Find energy-saving solutions to lower your energy bills.

  • One-on-One Support: Speak with our outreach representatives about assistance.

What to Bring

  • Your energy bills and account number.
  • Proof of public assistance benefits.
