Compostable Food Waste Bag Giveaway

Compost Bags

When residents begin the Food Waste Pick-Up Program, the City provides a kitchen bin to separate food waste from trash. In the kitchen bin, the City provides a starter set of 2.5-gallon compostable bags to help residents get started.

The city is actively exploring new ways to make bags more accessible and affordable for residents. DPW will be handing out kitchen bins to residents new to the program and one roll of compostable bags to ongoing participants. Join us at one of these giveaways:

  • Monday 9/14: Main Library: 449 Broadway, 3:30-5:00 pm,
  • Tuesday 9/15: O’Neill Library: 70 Rindge Avenue, 2:30-4:00 pm,
  • Thursday 9/17: O’Connell Library: 48 Sixth Street, 2:30-4:00 pm,
  • Friday 9/18: DPW: 147 Hampshire Street, 10:00-11:30 am.
