August 2025 Update

We want to provide you with an update regarding the Kirkland Road Reconstruction Project, scheduled for construction in 2026 as part of the Complete Streets program and the City's Five-Year Plan for Street and Sidewalk Reconstruction.

The Kirkland Road Reconstruction Project is one of ten streets in a larger contract, and the first group of streets in the contract are expected to go out to bid in Fall 2025, with construction anticipated to begin in 2026.

In advance of this project, the Cambridge Water Department will begin necessary utility upgrades including water main installation and water service improvements on Kirkland Road in the coming weeks. Residents will receive a separate notice directly from the Cambridge Water Department with additional details about the water work.

Additional information about the project will be posted on the project page, as it becomes available.
