Traffic Impacts to Quincy Street Starting March 31

Proposed Detour for Quincy Street Starting 3-31-2025

As part of the Cambridge Fire Department Headquarters Renovation Project, the City’s contractor, WT Rich, will implement a detour on Quincy Street between Cambridge Street and Broadway. Traffic will be redirected onto Prescott Street. Pedestrian crosswalks and bike lanes on the affected section of Quincy Street will remain accessible.

The detour is expected to be in place 24 hours a day for approximately three months, from March 31, 2025, to June 30, 2025, weather permitting. During this time, construction vehicles will be on Quincy Street for demolition activities and installing new structural steel for the building.

Please stay alert for detour signs, road closure signs, variable message boards, and no parking signs, as these will be updated frequently throughout the project.

Refer to the image below for detailed detour information.
