The New England Jazz Collaborative, in partnership with The Middle East, will launch a new Monday night jazz orchestra series this fall. Each show will feature a different large local jazz ensemble. Over the course of the series, audiences will hear cutting-edge original music, Afro-Latin and global influences and classic big band repertoire. The series kicks off at Sonia at The Middle East on September 14 at 7:00 p.m.

The Cambridge NITES grant is intended to highlight the success of Cambridge’s nightlife and entertainment industry. Through Cambridge NITES, the Economic Opportunity and Development and Community Planning and Design Divisions hope to position Cambridge as a center for nightlife and entertainment in the region and attract residents and visitors alike to explore all that Cambridge’s nightlife has to offer.
