Affordable Homeownership Program Review

The Housing Division is undertaking a review of the City's affordable homeownership programs, with a focus on how affordable homes increase in value and policies on inheritance. The review includes engagement with the Affordable Housing Trust; the City Council and Housing Committee; current owners of affordable homes; and applicants waiting for affordable homeownership opportunities.

Program Review Presentations and Materials

At the meeting held on April 27, 2023, the Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust discussed preliminary recommendations for potential program changes. At this meeting, the Trust voted to move the preliminary recommendations to the next steps. This will involve outreach to all current owners to provide information, answer questions, and gather input from owners and other stakeholders prior to making final recommendations. A legal review of options for program changes is ongoing.
