Description

This meeting will be held online. A link to register will be posted soon.

Purpose:

The purpose of this public information meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Cambridge – Bridge Replacement, C-01-026, Memorial Drive Over Brookline Street project. All views and comments submitted in response to the public information meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.

Proposal:

The proposed project consists of removing the existing William Reid Overpass, which, though safe for all users, has reached the end of its useful lifespan and should be replaced, with either a reconstructed intersection of Memorial Drive and Brookline Street and a new overpass or a reconstructed intersection in which Memorial Drive and Brookline Street would cross each other at-grade. The project also proposes replacing the bridge carrying Memorial Drive over the Grand Junction Railroad Line. Additional goals of this project include significant enhancements to bicycle and pedestrian connectivity at the intersection and consolidation of transportation assets to return space to accessible parkland if possible.

This meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
