Ayah A. Al Zubi

Councilor Ayah Zubi

Ayah Al-Zubi is serving her first term on the Cambridge City Council as the youngest Councillor in the City's history. She moved around a lot growing up, landing in Cambridge for college which has now become home. She is a graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is a Muslim Arab woman who rents in the city and understands the difficulty of trying to get by.

Ayah comes from a Bedouin tribe in Jordan, instilling her values of community, compassion and dignity. An organizer at heart, Ayah is committed to advocating for her vision of making Cambridge a dignified home for all. Her priorities will be centered around affordability and dignity on issues from housing, food access, universal childcare, and more. She will be working to bring Cambridge's first Social Housing pilot to life. Not to mention, she loves sports and music, drawing upon both of their universal natures to bring people together.
