"The City of Cambridge stands in solidarity with our Haitian and Syrian communities, and all of those affected, following today’s Supreme Court Temporary Protected Status ruling. We recognize the deep concern and anxiety that many families are experiencing as they face losing temporary protections that have allowed them to live, work, and thrive in our city, state, and country.
Our Haitian and Syrian neighbors are essential members of our schools, workplaces, faith communities, and neighborhoods.
Cambridge is particularly proud to be home to a vibrant Haitian community whose contributions enrich our cultural, social, and economic life—a bond made even more meaningful through our sister city relationship with Les Cayes, Haiti.
We are deeply concerned about the human impact of this ruling and reaffirm our commitment as a Welcoming City, to protecting the dignity, safety, and well-being of all residents, regardless of their immigration status.
Our immediate focus is helping residents navigate questions about the Supreme Court's ruling and how to access support. To assist those affected, the City of Cambridge will continue to offer community support, legal assistance through our partners, and other resources and guidance led by our Commission on Immigrant Rights and Citizenship (CIRC). We urge anyone with questions or concerns to call (617) 349-4396 or email
CIRC@CambridgeMA.Gov."
CIRC is working closely with partners to plan a series of upcoming webinars for interested and/or concerned community members. Those will be announced in the coming days. In the interim, MIRA (Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition) is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, June 30 from 12-1 p.m. Visit
