We view all attempts to educate, promote healing, and support the economic stability of individuals and communities as prevention strategies. To that end, we support organizations who already do this work to incorporate conversations about DGBV and skill building around healthy conflict and communication. We promote strategies that will not cause further harm to communities in their attempt to help.
Prevention necessitates thinking about the needs, motivations, and decisions of those who cause harm. We believe in and practice accountability for harmful, hurtful, and violent actions. People are more than their worst deeds. We encourage our community to see the whole person while holding them accountable for actions that are unacceptable.
We support the work of Intimate Partner Abuse Education Programs as well as hotlines to address the violence of abuse partners. Below are local resources available.
