Cambridge Permit Finder Dataset and Interactive Dashboard Now Available

The City of Cambridge Open Data Program has released a new Cambridge Permit Finder dataset and interactive dashboard that bring together permit data from multiple City departments. These resources provide a new way to search for and explore permit activity across Cambridge using a single, unified source.

Users can now access and work with multiple types of permit data together, rather than searching across separate systems. With over 30 types of permits, users can explore everything from demolition to party tent permits.

The dataset includes:

  • Permit records from multiple City departments
  • Address-based data to support searching by location
  • Standardized fields to support consistent use across permit types

The Cambridge Permit Finder Dashboard is built using the new dataset, and it provides an interactive way to explore the data.

With the dashboard, users can:

  • Search for permits by address
  • View permit locations on a map
  • Filter results by permit type
  • Display and layer multiple permit types at the same time
  • Click on a specific permit to get detailed information

The dashboard supports both quick lookups and more detailed exploration of permit activity across the City.
