Weekend Traffic Alert: Super Sunday Road Race and Harvard Square Chili Cook-Off

The City of Cambridge is preparing for two events this weekend that are expected to cause traffic delays and road closures.

 

Weather Alert: The Super Sunday Road Race is canceled for February 9 due to weather conditions and will move to next Sunday, February 16. 

 

Saturday, February 8: Harvard Square Chili Cook Off

The Harvard Square Business Association is hosting the 15th Annual “Some Like It Hot” Chili Cook Off on Saturday, February 8th in Harvard Square. The event will take place on Brattle Street between Deguglielmo Plaza and Church Street, and the section of Brattle St will be closed to traffic from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Please plan accordingly and consider alternative routes.  

 

Sunday, February 16*: Super Sunday Road Race


*RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEEKEND FORECAST*
The Super Sunday Road Race will take place on Sunday, February 16th, beginning at 10:00 AM. The race starts and ends on Athenaeum Street, with the route traveling through First Street, Binney Street, Third Street, Broadway Street, Quincy Street, Cambridge Street, and back to Athenaeum Street.

Road closures and traffic delays are expected in the area during the race until about 11:00 AM. Please plan accordingly and consider alternate routes. See the attached course map for additional details.

* The race, initially scheduled for February 9, has been rescheduled to February 16. However, the afterparty activities will still take place as planned on February 9, held on private property. All race-related closures will now occur on February 16.
