Upcoming Cambridge Traffic Impacts: June 12-19, 2025

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the week due to several community events. These include Haggerty Day, the Greek Festival, the US Army’s 250th Birthday, Hoops ‘N’ Health, 617 Day Block Party, and the Juneteenth Parade and Celebration. Please note: US Army and Hoops 'N' Health Events postponed due to Saturday's weather forecast. 

Traffic impacts and street closures are expected throughout the week across Cambridge. Please follow all posted detour signage, plan ahead, and consider using alternative routes or modes of transportation.

Thursday, June 12: Haggerty Day

  • Street Closures:

  • Cushing Street between Vineyard St and Locust St

  • Time of Closures: 8:00 AM- 2:00 PM

  • Rain date is Friday, June 13.

Friday, June 13 – Sunday, June 15: Greek Festival

  • Street Closures:

  • Magazine Street between Franklin St and Auburn St

  • Time of Closures:

  • Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM- 10:00 PM

  • Sunday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Saturday, June 14: US Army 250th Birthday (Rain Date July 7*)

  • Street Closures:

Tuesday, June 17: 617 Day Block Party

  • Street Closures:

  • Winthrop St between JFK St and Eliot St

  • Time of Closures:

  • 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Rain date is Wednesday, June 18.

Thursday, June 19: Juneteenth Parade and Celebration

  • Street Closures:

  • Blackstone St from Western Ave to River St Closed 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pleasant St at Mass Ave Closed 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Parade Route:The parade will meet and depart from the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Pleasant Street in Central Square. The parade will proceed down Pleasant Street to Western Avenue, then to Blackstone Street, and conclude at Riverside Press Park.
