Week of Tuesday, September 2: Back-to-School Reminder
Tuesday, September 2 marks the beginning of a new 2025-2026 school year here in Cambridge. Back to school means there will be a lot more traffic on the road, including school buses, as well as more pedestrians and bicyclists. We want everyone driving to pay attention and slow down, especially in school zones.
Please expect traffic delays, watch for children, and stop for school buses and crossing guards.
Of note: The return of school will also include the opening of the new Tobin Montessori and Darby Vassall Upper Schools and Community Complex in West Cambridge. Buses will load and unload at the Vassal Lane bus loop during school start and dismissal times:
- Tobin Montessori: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM; Wed 7:45 AM – 1:45 PM (doors open 7:30 AM)
- Darby Vassall Upper School: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM; Wed 8:45 AM – 2:45 PM (doors open 8:30 AM)
- Parent drop-off and pick-up will be through the parking garage on Vassal Lane during the same start/dismissal windows.
Let’s all work together to ensure a safe start to the school year. We hope all parents, students, and teachers have a wonderful back-to-school start!
