Cambridge Weekend Community Events: Street Closures and Travel Impacts

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the weekend due to scheduled community events on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17.  Events include the Annual BB&N Circus, Inman Eats and Crafts, the Teen Takeover Block Party, and the Bionic 5K road-race. 

Traffic impacts and street closures are expected throughout the weekend across Cambridge. Please follow all posted detour signage, plan ahead, and consider using alternative routes or modes of transportation.

Saturday, May 16 from 8 AM - 4 PM: 73rd BB&N Circus

  • Street Closure:

  • Buckingham Street from Parker Street to Craigie

  • Time of Street Closure: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 16 from 11 AM - 6 PM: Teen Takeover Block Party

  • Street Closure: Area surrounding Hoyt Field, Montague Street and Gilmore Street

  • Time of Street Closure: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sunday, May 17 from 7 AM – 6 PM: Inman Eats and Crafts

  • Street Closure:

  • Inman Square: Cambridge Street between Springfield Street and Prospect Street

  • Time of Closures: 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 17 from 7 AM – 1:00 PM: Bionic 5K and 1 Mile

  • Street Closures and Surrounding Streets:

  • Church Street will be closed to traffic from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • The following roads will be impacted along the route, but not closed: Brattle Street, Lakeview Ave, Worthington Street, and Lexington Ave

  • Time of Closures: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Church Street, 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM on rolling basis on surrounding streets
