On Monday morning, April 14th, and with the return of some decent weather, Engine 3 & Ladder 2 ran a pump ops, water supply, & tower ladder ops training exercise at Magazine Beach, along the Charles River.
With a good water supply & multiple supply lines in use, Engine 3 was flowing approximately 1500 gpm (gallons per minute) at 150 psi (pounds per square inch), feeding Ladder 2's elevated heavy stream appliances. The solid bore, large capacity nozzle was utilized for reach and penetration and the combination nozzle with fog application was used for simulated exposure protection and vapor control.
This was just one of the training exercises and other activities, including inspections, school fire drills, routine maintenance, as well as responses to emergency calls during the tour of duty.
Group 2 on duty.
