Responsibilities include coordinating operations and activities in the Emergency Communications Center. This entails testing, monitoring, and operating police and fire signaling systems. Additionally, receiving and processing emergency calls related to police, fire, and EMS, adhering to various national, state, and local protocols. Dispatching police, fire, EMS, and other emergency units and personnel as required. Monitoring and operating radio, computer, telephone, and other specialized equipment to support public safety communications and dispatch functions.
Under the supervision of the Housing Director, the Housing Planner will be a key member of the Housing Division's affordable housing development team and will manage compliance with the City's Inclusionary Housing and Incentive Zoning provisions through which market-rate developments create affordable housing and contribute funding to assist in advancing City housing goals. Manage studies related to these provisions, research and manage new policy initiatives, provide support to the Inclusionary Rental and Homebuyer program teams, and assist with other City housing programs as needed. The Housing Planner will work with other CDD staff and City departments, neighborhood groups, non-profit and private housing developers and managers, lenders, and the Cambridge Housing Authority.
The Cambridge Public Library with its seven locations and mission of service to all is an important pathway for delivery of social services to the public. In partnership with Library and City staff, the Library Social Worker will foster equity and access to behavioral health, substance misuse, housing, employment, education, and other resources by engaging vulnerable populations at the Library and in the community. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Libraries.
Working under the direction of the Chief of Equity and Inclusion, the Program Coordinator will oversee the development of domestic and gender-based violence prevention and will serve as the principal resource to City leadership. The Program Coordinator will provide leadership and work in collaboration with an Executive Committee and the Initiative’s Steering Committee, composed of diverse community stakeholders, domestic and sexual violence prevention agencies, and relevant City representatives. The Program Coordinator must be able to effectively lead the implementation of the Initiative’s vision and goals as well as maximize and align the effectiveness of domestic and gender-based violence prevention and intervention efforts. Additionally, the Coordinator must be able to foster a high level of collaboration and cooperation among all stakeholders to achieve the Initiative’s goals and objectives.
