Description

Celebrate Lunar New Year with free cultural performances, games, and seasonal treats.


Highlights:

  • Lunar New Year–themed food from Foodzilla
  • Hot chocolate from S&S
  • Winter games hosted by Cambridge Recreation, including:
    • Curling
    • Shuffleboard
    • Broom ball
    • Corn hole
  • Activities, provided by the Chinese American Association of Cambridge:
    • Jianzi (Chinese hackey sack)
    • Peking Opera mask painting (inside the library)
    • Lantern riddles (inside the library)
  • MIT Lion Dance
  • Fire and flow performance by MIT Spinning Arts
  • Cultural performances curated by Aurora Art Life, including:
    • Traditional Mongolian & Chinese Classical Dance Performance: Eva Liu, Founder & Artistic Director of Aurora Art Life
    • Peking Opera Performance: Minghua Chen,
    • Traditional Chinese Martial Arts & Taiji Performance: Master Narcyz Latecki, International Martial Arts Judge
    • Chinese Traditional Instrument Ensemble Performance: Neo Chinese Folk Engine
  • Hoy Pinoy (UMass Boston)
  • Festive lighting

Produced in partnership with Aurora Art Life and the Chinese American Association of Cambridge.

Dress warmly; indoor space at the Main Library will be available to warm up.
