Sennott Park
Trace the city's bow tie shape on the annual Bow Tie Bike Ride, hosted by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee and Department of Transportation! This relaxed, family-friendly ride will start and end at Sennott Park—rain or shine—near the intersection of Broadway and Tremont St. The ride will leave promptly at 10:00 a.m. and return by noon.
Bike mechanics will be available before the ride to make quick safety checks.
No bike? No problem! Anyone 16 and older can request a free Bluebikes pass by Thursday, October 1, by emailing bluebikes@cambridgema.gov. You will need the Bluebikes app to redeem the pass.
Stay tuned for route updates by signing up for Community Bike Ride email alerts or by checking the Cambridge Bike Rides website as we get closer to the October 3. There is no registration or charge for the tour—just show up and enjoy!

Are you an intermediate or advanced sewer? This class will cover serger machine setup, threading a serger, and identifying correct tension settings with different types of fabric. You will learn about ways to use our Elna Extend 864 Air serger to take your sewing skills to the next level by producing special finishing styles, hemming, trimming and assembling your garments. Up to two patrons can register for this class.
This class is designed for patrons who have prior experience using a sewing machine to complete many types of fiber arts projects. If you are new to machine sewing, we recommend you take our Sewing 101 workshop before using our serger.
You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.
Please arrive on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will not be able to join the class.

Join the Cambridge Public Library and the International School of Boston as they collaborate to host a French story time and a music-and-movement session where children will sing, move, enjoy a classic book read aloud in French, and create a small craft to take home. Parents will walk away with simple, effective tips to support interactive reading at home. No prior French experience is needed; this program is designed to spark curiosity, build cultural awareness, and make language learning joyful for all! Recommended for youth ages 3 to 6 years with their caregiver.
Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. Hand Embroidery will cover an assortment of basic embroidery stitches that can be used to embellish your clothing and hide (or highlight!) holes and stains! Leave class with a sampler of embroidery stitches you can refer back to, along with knowledge of tools, materials, and techniques for stitching up embroidered designs. Suitable for beginners with little or no embroidery experience, or those who want a refresher on the basics.
