NOTICE: The Assessing Department will be open to members of the public, by appointment only, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments are available for residential exemptions, personal exemptions, excise tax abatements, and other services. Appointments can be made online, by phone at 617-349-4343 or by email at assessors@cambridgema.gov.

The Assessing Department manages commercial/industrial and residential property values and maintains an extensive database of property information. Some of this information is available online in the Property Database.

Due to COVID-19, the Assessing Department will be offering virtual neighborhood taxpayer assistance meetings via Zoom.

In addition, the Assessing Department manages personal property (business) values and Motor Vehicle Excise Tax.

Municipal Lien Certificates (MLC): If you are requesting a municipal lien certificate please use the link below to access the on-line form. 

The Assessing Department does not process any MLCs.  Please contact the Finance Department directly or use this link so your certificate request is not unnecessarily delayed.
