Upcoming Weekend Traffic Impacts

The City of Cambridge would like to notify residents, businesses, and visitors about temporary street closures for two special events taking place this weekend.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signs.

Brainchild Block Party

Street Closure

• Norfolk Street between Bishop Allen Drive and Massachusetts Avenue

Closure Time

• 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Brainchild Block Party is a free community event in Central Square featuring live music, local artists, food vendors, and activities. 

CambridgeSide World Cup Watch Party

Street Closure

• First Street between Cambridge Street and Hurley Street

Closure Time

• 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The following intersections will also be closed to through traffic:

• First Street at Otis Street
• First Street at Thorndike Street
• First Street at Spring Street

Join the City of Cambridge, CambridgeSide, and the Cambridge Office for Tourism for a free outdoor FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party at CambridgeSide. The event will feature 3 large outdoor viewing screens, family-friendly activities, entertainment, and food vendors.
