Apply for Sale and Transfer Smoke/CO Certificate (26F-26F 1/2) - Less Than 6 Units Sold/Transferred

Cambridge Fire

To protect the public from fire hazards, the Cambridge Fire Department inspects properties and issues relevant permits, licenses, and certificates, and also educates the public on fire safety and prevention. This includes smoke and carbon monoxide detector compliance for the sale or transfer of residential property, environmental property searches, and obtaining fire reports.

The online application option saves you time — instead of visiting us at 491 Broadway, you can apply online and even print out your permit once it has been approved by the Cambridge Fire Department. Note that in-person applications are no longer available.
