Cambridge Water Department Returns to Cambridge Water After Temporarily Switching to MWRA Water

Updated Announcement (January 23, 2024):

On January 23, 2024, after completing necessary repairs, the Cambridge Water Department has switched from MWRA water back to Cambridge Water. 
If you have any non-emergency concerns or questions, please feel free to email us at CWD@cambridgema.gov. If you have an emergency or urgent water issue, please call 617-349-4770 for immediate response.

Original Announcement (January 18, 2024):

Due to an unanticipated mechanical issue at the Water Treatment Plant, on Thursday evening, the Cambridge Water Department temporarily switched to MWRA water to accommodate the necessary repairs.

The duration of the switch to the MWRA is unknown at this time, but the Cambridge Water Department will post updates as they become available. If you have any non-emergency concerns or questions, please feel free to email CWD@cambridgema.gov.  If you have an emergency or urgent water issue, please call 617-349-4770 for immediate response.
