City of Cambridge Hosting Veterans Day Observance Event at Cambridge Common; Closures and Service Information for Veterans Day Holiday Tuesday, November 11

Veterans' Day

The City of Cambridge Department of Veterans Services will host a Veterans Day Observance event on Tuesday, November 11, from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Cambridge Common, located at 1500 Massachusetts Avenue, by the Civil War monument, which is bordered by Massachusetts Avenue, Garden Street, and Waterhouse Street, near Harvard Square.

All are welcome to join the City as we welcome Army Veteran Kevin Lambert as the keynote speaker. During his three years of service in the Army Infantry, including 16 consecutive months in Iraq, Lambert exemplified leadership, resilience, and dedication. Following a medical discharge, he redirected his mission toward supporting those who serve. He played a pivotal role in creating and managing community-based peer support programs for Veterans focused on suicide prevention, housing, jail diversion, and re-entry from incarceration.

An informal gathering and free luncheon will follow from 12-3 p.m., at the Sheraton Commander Hotel, Liberty Revolution Ballroom, 16 Garden Street, Cambridge, adjacent to the Cambridge Common. In case of inclement weather, the 11 a.m. ceremony will move to the Sheraton Commander.
