Learn How Cambridge’s Budget Works: Participate in a City Budget Walk Through Interactive Session

Every year, the City budget shapes the services, programs, and investments that impact daily life. We want to make that process clearer, more accessible, and more collaborative.

Join us for one of two City Budget Walk Throughs, where City leaders and staff will break down how the budget is developed, how funding decisions are made, and how residents can meaningfully participate in future budget-shaping opportunities.

Each event will include:

  • A brief presentation
  • A gallery walk, where residents can speak directly with City staff about programs and services

Attendees will rotate through stations to ask questions and learn about CIty work, including:

  • Municipal Finance
  • Housing & Zoning
  • Economic Opportunity & Equity
  • Transportation
  • Sustainability & Climate Resilience
  • Human Service Programs

You don’t need any prior City or budget knowledge — just curiosity and a desire to learn more about how your City works.

This is one of two opportunities to participate!

Saturday, February 7: 2 – 4 p.m.
King Open School
850 Cambridge Street, Cambridge

Wednesday, February 11: 6 – 8 p.m.
Citywide Senior Center
806 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge

Light food and refreshments will be provided. Free interpretation services will be available at both events, upon request. Please email accesshelp@cambridgema.gov to submit a request for either date.
