HubSpot Joins City of Cambridge’s Community Electricity Program; Becomes Largest Business To Participate in Program’s 100% Renewable Option

HubSpot, the leading customer platform for scaling businesses, has announced its commitment to sustainability by enrolling in Cambridge’s electricity aggregation program.

With its participation in The Cambridge Community Electricity Program, HubSpot becomes the largest user to date in the City’s 100% Green Plus fully renewable electricity option. HubSpot joins over 120  businesses across Cambridge that have already made the switch to clean, renewable energy via 100% Green Plus.

The program’s 100% Green Plus option provides electricity from 100% renewable sources in New England with MA Class I Renewable Energy Certificates and contributes to new local solar projects in Cambridge.

This move underscores HubSpot’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to the City's ambitious sustainability goals. By opting for 100% Green Plus electricity, HubSpot will power its Cambridge operations with clean, renewable energy sourced entirely from solar, wind, and other renewable resources, helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower the carbon footprint of its business.

"Cambridge is home to HubSpot’s global headquarters, so we're thrilled to support local sustainability efforts as members of the Community Electricity Program," said Kate Bueker, CFO, HubSpot. "By choosing this fully renewable electricity pathway, we're reinforcing HubSpot's commitment to environmental responsibility and supporting the local community in its effort to combat climate change."

As the largest electricity user in the program's 100% Green Plus option, HubSpot’s participation sets a powerful example for other businesses in the region to follow suit in embracing renewable energy.

The Cambridge Community Electricity Program offers residents and businesses the opportunity to purchase cleaner, greener electricity at competitive rates. The program is part of the City's ongoing effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support renewable energy, and foster a more sustainable and resilient future for Cambridge.

“HubSpot’s leadership in sustainability sets an inspiring example for other businesses to take part in making our community run on renewable energy and to be environmentally-friendly,” said Julie Wormser, Chief Climate Officer, City of Cambridge. “We are thrilled to welcome HubSpot as the largest user of the 100% Green Plus option in the Cambridge Community Electricity Program.”
