Playtime for All with Cambridge Plays

Cambridge Plays logo with text saying: "Enjoy live music, dancing, and other fun outdoor activities this summer"

There are many ways to play in Cambridge this summer! Craft, dance, sing, explore, and learn together in parks and plazas across the city with Cambridge Plays. Cambridge Plays events are outdoors, free, and open to people of all ages. Each event is as unique as the local business, artist, or organization hosting.

This summer you can:

  • Enjoy live musical performances.
  • Make your own postcards.
  • Explore the elements of tai chi.
  • Learn to sing barbershop harmonies.
  • Cover stains and refresh faded clothes with a community dye bath.
  • Build strength and focus with yoga.
  • Experience the history of East Cambridge.
  • Get your heart rate going with a dance class.

Cambridge Plays is a program of the Community Development Department. We partner with local businesses, artists, and organizations to sponsor free events. We strive to build community, increase access to cultural programming, and add to the vibrancy of our commercial areas. The program runs May through August.

If you’re interested in hosting an event, learn more about the application process on our website. Applications are closed for Summer 2025 and will reopen next spring.
