Cambridge Plays Returns for a Summer of Joy

Cambridge Plays logo with text saying: "Enjoy live music, dancing, and other fun outdoor activities this summer"

Spend time outside and under a tree this summer with Cambridge Plays! Learn a new craft or skill. Move your body. Meet your neighbors. Make a new friend.

Join us for the first Cambridge Plays event of the summer: Tai Chi Under A Tree, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Cambridge Common. Instructor Ellen DeGenova will lead us through qigong warm-ups and the elements of tai chi. No complicated choreography. No experience necessary. Chairs will be available.

There are many more ways to play. This summer you can:

  • Contribute to an interactive music and poetry experience
  • Learn how to paint with watercolors
  • Participate in sustainable, slow crafts with Still Life Studios
  • Explore STEM outside with MLAB
  • Sweat, smile and shake it with Healthworks

For the schedule of events, visit: www.cambridgema.gov/plays.

Cambridge Plays is a program of the Community Development Department. We partner with local businesses, artists, and organizations to sponsor free events. Each event is as unique as the local business, artist, or organization hosting. We strive to build community, increase access to cultural programming, and add to the vibrancy of our commercial areas. The program runs June through August.

If you’re interested in hosting an event, learn more about the application process on our website. Applications for events in July and August are due Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
