Tech Rescue Refresher Training - Structural Collapse Rescue

Tech Rescue - Structural Collapse Refresher training class is ongoing during the week of Arpil 28th thru May 2nd. The members of the Cambridge Fire Tech Rescue Companies (Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, & Squad 2), along with Chelsea Fire, Everett Fire, Revere Fire, Quincy Fire, & Somerville Fire are participating at the Boston Fire Department Moon Island Tech Rescue Training facility.

Thank you to the Boston Fire instructors for sharing the knowledge.

The class is divided into 3 segments: I) securing, stabilizing, and lifting a car, and lifting a concrete slab; II) rope rescue via a blind elevator shaft; and III) shoring of an unstable structure.

As always, firefighter teamwork, knowledge of the tools, capabilities, and physics, and utilization of incident command structure gets the job done efficiently and safely.
