New Rescue 2 placed in Service

This USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) truck was built by Marion on a Freightliner chassis. The truck is fully equipped for response to major incidents and collapse incidents in Cambridge, as well as in the Boston UASI (Urban Area Security Initiative) Metro area.. The wide variety of heavy rescue equipment includes hand and power tools, struts, jacks, cutting tools, shoring, cribbing, and much, much more.

Rescue 2 is cross-staffed by the members of Rescue 1 and the Tech Rescue Companies (Engine 1, Ladder1, and Squads 2, 3, and 4). It is available for response by special call as needed.

Boston Fire operates a similar USAR truck.
