Fire Headquarters Reconstruction Progress Report

Reconstruction of the Fire Headquarters building at 491 Broadway continues on schedule!

Photos from Monday, October 6, 2025 show the continuing progress.

Installation of interior mechnical systems, fire protection systems, and utilities is ongoing. Interior wall studs are in place and the installation of sheet-rock interior walls is in progress. New stairways are also now in place.

On the exterior of the site, geo-thermal well drilling continues, as well as electrical substation and roof work.

This facility, the home of Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Fire Prevention, Tech Services, the Command Staff and Administrative Offices, was originally occupied in February of 1934.
