Are you looking for fun stuff to do when boredom strikes? Take home a packet of simple activities such as mazes, word searches and drawing prompts. Find ideas for fun requiring only a few things and lots of imagination. Each packet contains a few pages sourced from Anorak Magazine, the ‘happy mag for kids’ designed to inspire and encourage children to tap into their natural creativity and learn while having fun. Recommended for children ages 6-12, available while supplies last.

Join us to write holiday cards for your neighbors! We will provide pens, art supplies, and blank cards for you to decorate. You are welcome to bring your own cards if you have them. Registration is required.

Children and their grown-ups are invited to this special kid-centered cookbook club! This month, we're celebrating Picnic Food! Bring a dish to share, or just come to talk about your experience with a chosen cookbook. No need to bring a dish to join. Visit Valente for a selection of cookbooks that are ready to check out. Are you an intermediate or advanced sewer? This class will cover serger machine setup, threading a serger, and identifying correct tension settings with different types of fabric. You will learn about ways to use our Elna Extend 864 Air serger to take your sewing skills to the next level by producing special finishing styles, hemming, trimming and assembling your garments. Up to two patrons can register for this class. This class is designed for patrons who have prior experience using a sewing machine to complete many types of fiber arts projects. If you are new to machine sewing, we recommend you take our Sewing 101 workshop before using our serger. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

All ages are welcome to join us as we observe birds at Fresh Pond. We will look for birds migrating to or through our area as well as year-round resident birds. As we walk we will discuss general birdwatching tips and learn more about the birds we share our outdoor spaces with. A limited supply of binoculars will be available.
