What happens when mental illness meets homelessness and there’s nowhere to turn? What does healthcare look like when you’re sleeping outside, alone, and invisible? Join NAMI Cambridge/Middlesex and the Cambridge Public Library for an unflinching look at healthcare on the margins as Dr. Jim O’Connell, founding physician and President of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) shares stories, insights, and hard truths from a lifetime spent caring for patients—not in pristine clinics but in shelters, on sidewalks, and under bridges. Moderated by Dr. Rich Parker, this one-night event will explore the barriers so many in our community face when mental illness goes untreated, housing is out of reach, and support feels out of sight. Cosponsored by Cambridge Public Library. Registration is required.

Calling all plant lovers! Add some green into your home! Bring your own plants to share propagules with others or come to pot a new plant baby for your home collection. We'll have a small collection of house plant propagules, along with soil and plastic planting containers. Attendees are welcome to bring their own pots as well.

Celebrate the end of summer with neighbors old and new! We will have free food, games, crafts, bubbles and a clothing swap! All neighbors of any age are welcome. At 3:30 p.m. we will have a family-friendly concert with music by Music at the Blissful. This event will happen outside. In case of rain or bad weather there will be modified activities inside the O'Neill Branch.

Join Central Square's new Horror Book Club. We're exploring horror in all forms -- classic horror, queer horror, ghost stories, and more! For our July meeting, we're reading Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Copies are available for pickup at the branch. For this title, we're following up our discussion with a special film screening of the 2018 film adaptation, Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman.
