Expand swim hours on weekends at the War Memorial pools for three years. Saturday evenings would open an hour later, and Sunday mornings would open an hour earlier. This proposal will fund the operating expenses for extended swimming time.

Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-9 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Charlie and Frog by Karen Kane. Charlie’s boring summer gets a lot more interesting when he sees a mysterious woman who gives him a desperate message (in American Sign Language) and then disappears. Luckily, local girl detective Francine (Frog) has been looking for her next case, and ASL is her first language. They’ll have to work together to decipher clues and find ways to communicate and solve the mystery before it’s too late! Copies of this month's book are available at the Children's Desk. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family. The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our December meeting, we will discuss This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate by Naomi Klein. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. E-book copies of the book are available to borrow on the Libby app and audiobook copies are available immediately on the Hoopla app. Registration is required. The Cambridge Arts Council and Gallery 344 are located in the renovated City Hall Annex at 344 Broadway. We welcome everyone to visit our space and to view the large-scale wall paintings created by Mike Glier for the Annex. We also invite you to view current and future projects at Gallery 344 attend our public events. The objective of the programming at Gallery 344 is to explore and advance the role of art in public life. We involve local, regional, and national artists in exhibitions and educational programming that engage our audience throughout the City and beyond.

Filament/Firmament is a permanent public artwork for the newly expanded main branch of the Cambridge Public Library by longtime Cambridge resident and acclaimed sculptor Ellen Driscoll.

Install high-visibility markers on fire hydrants around town to increase safety for all residents and reduce response time of the fire department by improving ease of locating hydrants in emergencies, at night, and in the snow.
