Tales from Toledo, Storyteller Tony Toledo that is. Once upon a time...THE END. You won’t believe what happens in the middle! From "What's in that House?" to "Give me back my Diamond Button!" the middle will be full of fun. Join us for a lively storytelling program for children and their caregivers. Tony Toledo has been telling stories to pay his rent since the end of the 20th Century. Tony has visited many libraries, told many stories, and passed out many riddle bookmarks. Tony grew up in Ohio, served in the Army, bicycled from Oregon to Virginia, sampled Law School, hosts his annual Corn Party In Beverly and loves peach pie more than chocolate cake. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.

Join Central Square's new Horror Book Club. We're exploring horror in all forms -- classic horror, queer horror, ghost stories, and more! Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale today announced that the second phase of the Temporary Emergency Shelter at the War Memorial Recreation Center is scheduled to open on April 17. The Field House is an exclusive area at the shelter that will provide dining, daytime services and overnight shelter for Cambridge residents experiencing homelessness.

The Peace Garden will include a memorial for loved ones from Cambridge whose lives were taken due to violence. The Peace Garden will be a place of tranquility and reflection.

With temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s this week, the City of Cambridge is excited to announce that waterplay features at many parks and playgrounds are now open for the summer season!
