Meeting minutes for the June meeting of the Cambridge LGBTQ Commission

The City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Public Health Department recognize that there are many questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, including safety of the vaccines; trust in government and pharmaceutical companies who developed the vaccines; potential side effects; who should and should not receive the vaccine; and where vaccines will be administered. CPHD and the City will continue to update residents and those who work in Cambridge as more information becomes available.

In this class, we'll take a friendly, no-pressure look at how artificial intelligence is being used to create fake photos, videos, and even cloned voices, and how scammers use these tools to trick people. We'll talk about real examples you may have seen in the news, learn some simple tips for spotting when something's not quite right, and share trustworthy tools and websites you can use to double-check information before you trust it, or share it with family and friends. You don't need any tech background to join us. Just bring your questions and your curiosity, we'll walk through everything together, step by step. This class is a part of the AARP curriculum. Shop our community swap for free spooky season costumes for all ages! Drop gently worn costumes off at the O'Neill Branch from Monday September 28-Friday October 2. Items must be clean and delivered to a staff member during open hours. No shoes or pretend weapons please.

The Library is pleased to be working with dedicated community members to offer a special story time in Arabic! This program which will be conducted primarily in Arabic with the intention of helping young Arabic language learners to improve their skills. This program is suitable for children up to age 7. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket.
