Cambridge is not ready to move on from the World Cup fever. To keep the momentum going, the City of Cambridge, Harvard Square Business Association and local businesses are partnering to host an outdoor screening of Copa 71, an inspiring documentary celebrating the trailblazing women of the 1971 Women’s World Cup. Join us for a fun community night with family-friendly activities beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 30 on Bow Street between DeWolfe and Plympton Street. The movie will begin at 8 p.m.

Pollinator gardens are gardens specifically for native plant species that provide pollinator resources for local wildlife. This project will design and plant a pollinator garden within a city park to attract and nourish native pollinators!

The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. Our September book is What If We Get It Right? To understand our impact on climate change and measure progress over time, Cambridge has committed to doing a greenhouse gas inventory of its emissions at least every five years. This information helps the City understand where emissions are coming from, identify the biggest opportunities to reduce them, and guide the policies and programs that support our goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.

Being a Firefighter is a noble, rewarding, and exciting profession where you have the opportunity to help people when they are most vulnerable. In addition to firefighting, the job includes a wide variety of skills including emergency medical care, control of hazardous materials releases, protection of the environment, extrication of trapped people (and animals), collapse rescue, water/ice rescue, elevator rescue, public fire education, fire prevention, etc. The deadline to register for the MA Civil Service Firefighter Entrance Examination is 8-27-24.
