The guide outlines care and custody options, including caregiver authorization, temporary agent authorization, and guardianship of a minor. The guide offers a comparison of how these options differ, and outlines the process for setting up each of these arrangements. It also offers a checklist of documents that parents may want to ensure they have in a safe place and available to the child and his or her caregiver as needed, such as passports, medical records, contact information and more.

The Affordable Housing Trust will hold its monthly meeting in-person and via Zoom webinar. July's meeting (previously scheduled for July 24) has been postponed to July 31, 2025 at 4 p.m. It will be held at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave, in the Ackerman Room. A site-based assessment team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive on Monday, August 18th through Thursday, August 21st to examine all aspects of the Cambridge Police Department policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services. Verification by the team that the Cambridge Police Department meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence. Because of the impact the water and sewer rate increases may have on senior citizens, the City offers a Senior Discount Water/Sewer program. All residents 65 years of age or older who own and occupy their one, two, or three family home are eligible for a 15% discount on water/sewer charges, not to exceed $90 per year.
