Improving public health in Cambridge is a citywide effort involving many City departments and community partners. The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD), a nationally accredited health department, spearheads the City’s public health approach and programming.
Street Cleaning Resumes April 1
Street cleaning resumes on Monday, April 1 for the 2024 season. Just like last year, vehicles will not be towed during street cleaning operations. However, it's essential for residents to move their vehicles according to the posted street cleaning schedule to ensure thorough cleaning of our City streets. Parking tickets of $50 will be issued to those who do not move their vehicles.
September 2023 Community Safety Department Update
The Community Safety Department is a fully funded city department that exists outside of the traditional scope of public safety. Our mission is to provide residents with an alternative police response that will prioritize issues of mental and behavioral health in some of our most vulnerable communities.
