Monthly Meeting for the Recycling Advisory Committee

The Urban Forestry Division is responsible for implementing a program of arboriculture for over 19,000 of Cambridge's public trees.

The last Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day of 2022 for residents only will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at 50 Mooney Street. Please enter the event via Smith Place off of Concord Avenue. The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Cambridge Police Department will be on site to assist with traffic.

January Selection: Death at the Sanatorium by Ragnar Jónasson. Postponed date. This book group will meet virtually and in person at the Boudreau Branch. The City of Cambridge COVID-19 Housing Stabilization Program serves to provide short term financial assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge who are experiencing housing instability due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A new partnership with Biobot Analytics, Inc. in Cambridge offers a new approach to tracking COVID-19 outbreaks: analyzing wastewater. This week, for the first time, Cambridge will have access to local wastewater data that will serve as an early warning signal of increased COVID-19 infections in the city. This new monitoring tool will augment more traditional public health approaches for tracking and responding to disease outbreaks.

The Green Building/Zoning Task Force was appointed by the City Manager in April 2008 to work with City staff and analyze various approaches and to encourage energy efficient building practices.
