On January 23, 2023, the City of Cambridge adopted the commonwealth of Massachusetts's new Municipal Opt-in Specialized Stretch Energy Code, joining the communities of Brookline and Watertown. The code, which goes into effect in Cambridge on July 1, 2023, is to support the City's Net zero goals.

The City of Cambridge is embarking on our second Zero Waste Master Plan (ZWMP) and we need your feedback on the City’s waste programs.

The City of Cambridge will begin installing flex posts to separated bike lanes on Hampshire Street from traffic and parking lanes.

You’re invited to our January Brewery Book Club, where Lamplighter and the Cambridge Public Library team up to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices while having a beer. We meet at Lamplighter Brewing Co., 284 Broadway, in the back taproom. This month we’ll read The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. The e-book and digital audiobook can be borrowed through the Libby app. We’ll gather in the Lamplighter back taproom to discuss the book, what we learned from it, what we found ourselves touched by, and all other thoughts. Our Magic Tree House book group for kids ages 5-10 meets the first Friday of the month. Pick up a copy of the book beforehand. Our September book is Magic Tree House #1, "Dinosaurs Before Dark."
