COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. Vaccines are recommended even for children who have already had COVID-19, since prior infection does not protect against new variants. COVID-19 infections have caused serious illness, hospitalization, and, in rare instances, death among young healthy children who had no underlying medical conditions. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended on Thursday, November 24 and will be one day behind schedule the rest of the week. Street cleaning will be suspended on both Thursday and Friday November 24-25. Streets that would have normally been swept on Thursday, November 24 will be made up on November 29, and streets that would have normally been swept on Friday, November 25 will be made up on November 30. The CIC Health COVID-19 test site at 295 Third Street will close on Wednesday, November 23 at 12 p.m. and will remain closed November 24-26. Testing will resume as normal on Sunday, November 27.

The Cambridge Police Department announced the promotions of 11 members to Lieutenants and Sergeants on April 1, 2024. At a ceremony held in the Sullivan Chamber at Cambridge City Hall, City Manager Yi-An Huang and Police Commissioner Christine Elow promoted five officers to Lieutenants and six to Sergeants.

Join us for a guided 60-minute art tour featuring public artwork in East Cambridge and learn about how Cambridge Arts commissions and maintains art for public enjoyment. We will visit three public artworks, and two sidewalk poems. Meet at Centanni Park between the Multicultural Arts Center and the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. This event is part of our Time Out for Public Art series in collaboration with Cambridge Arts. In October, these will be 60-minute art tours where we visit multiple sites as a group. Registration is required.

Learn about the Community Learning Center's Reading/Writing and Math classes for adults and take a placement test. Students work towards their high school equivalency (GED/HiSET) or want to improve their skills.
