What’s going on with Cuba and why? This presentation will examine the current crisis in relations between the United States and Cuba in historical context. The Trump administration has brought its own peculiar mix of his “Donroe Doctrine,” Pete Hegseth’s “warrior ethos,” Trump’s claim to be a “president of peace” to a long and troubled relationship with our Caribbean neighbor. The talk will look at the reasons for US enmity towards the Cuban Revolution and how the relationship has evolved in the post-Cold War era until today. Registration is required.

The Cambridge Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), composed of Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC), the Cambridge Police Department (CPD), and other community partners come together to improve communal response and multidisciplinary services for sexual violence survivors since 2017.

We invite children and their caregivers to a 30-minute session of songs and stories in Mandarin Chinese with Mina (Yating) Fan, a local mother and educator. This fun and interactive session brings families together to enjoy lively songs and engaging stories in a warm, welcoming environment. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. In observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, December 24-25, and Thursday, January 1. We also want residents to be aware that the Cambridge Police Department expects reports of package thefts to increase this time of year, particularly with more residents doing their shopping online.
